Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas is like a small oasis in the Nevada desert.

Opened in 1998, it stands out for its funky architecture. Because it is an indoor mall, shoppers can stay comfortable even in hot weather, making it an especially good choice for families with children.

It has just over 100 stores, but they include a strong selection of designer and popular brands. Among the stores rarely seen at other outlets are Versace, J.Crew, AG Jeans, Tahari, Miss Sixty, Neiman Marcus, Perry Ellis, Bally, Fendi, Tod’s, Michael Kors, Burberry, Coach and Williams-Sonoma.

Williams-Sonoma Marketplace is a haven for people who enjoy cooking. It sells tablecloths, kitchen furnishings and accessories, with savings that can reach hundreds of dollars. For summer shoes, be sure to visit Nine West and Skechers, where discounts can reach 50%. Banana Republic, a favorite among Korean shoppers, sometimes sells T-shirts for as little as $6. Through April 29, Perry Ellis is offering two premium cotton knit items for $40. Throughout April, Nautica is offering swimwear at special prices of $19.99 to $24.99.

If you use Estée Lauder, Clinique or Origins products, The Cosmetics Company Store is a place to pick up essentials at more than 30% off department-store prices.

The outlet also offers plenty for men. It is directly connected to Primm Valley Resort and Casino, and nearby casinos, restaurants, golf courses and roller coasters provide entertainment beyond shopping.

If you are staying in Las Vegas and would rather not drive to the outlet, take the shuttle bus. The ride takes about 40 minutes. You can board at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Planet Hollywood or Fashion Show. The $14 fare includes many discount coupons, and AAA members receive $4 off the shuttle fare.
