The Ahn Trio, a Korean sister trio based in New York, is coming to the Washington area.

　All three members studied at Juilliard. Known for reaching younger audiences with unconventional classical performances and outfits such as crop tops and leather pants, they will perform at Strathmore in Bethesda on Friday the 20th at 8 p.m.

　Acclaimed for their skill and creativity, the trio consists of twins Lucia on piano and Maria on cello, and their younger sister Angela on violin.

They attracted attention from an early age and have been described as prodigies by outlets including Time, The New York Times, PBS and the BBC. They have won numerous awards, including Germany’s prestigious ECHO Klassik. Known for their fashion sense as well, they were named among People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” in 2003.

Strathmore is offering a 30% discount to Korean and other Asian attendees for this Washington-area performance. Discounts are also available for group bookings of 15 or more.

Tickets cost $18 to $45 and can be booked at www.strathmore.org. Those without a Strathmore account can receive the 30% discount by entering source code 1148 when creating one.
